The very smart looking Harrods van was introduced in 1982. It came packed in a special box which featured the Harrods name on the header card.

Matchbox Toys agreed with Harrods to produce an exclusive 'Harrods' van, which could be sold only at the Harrods department store in London. Although packaged in a standard sized 'straw box' the overprinting was in a distinctive colour of green in accordance with Harrods livery.
The Harrods van peaked in value during the mid 1980's.

'MOTOR ACCESSORIES' in gold on both lower van side panels.

Variations/ Rarities: It had a dark green body with a black chassis and a light brown roof.
Early production runs were fitted with black seats and a cream surround on the cab window.
A second run saw the change to tan and in some cases a pale cream seat and type of doors. Also, the size of the tampo print labels was reduced so that the cab window surround was in green formed by the bosy paint.
It had gold plated 12 spoke wheels.
The Harrods van has type 3 rear doors but it can also be found with cream type 2 rear doors.
There are no rare variations.
